10baggerbamm OP LittleSoldier : there's a couple other Chinese companies that are light years ahead Elon Musk talks about the dexterity of the hand in Optimus. if you go online and you look at the videos the name escapes maybe these companies but it is astounding what they're able to pick up touch I mean literally pick up a postage stamp off of a table top the things that are being done are amazing.
not to say he's not going to sell Optimus when it comes out but he does not have first mover advantage not by a long shot.
the reality is what is going to be the application the utilization Factor the benefit to owning one?
I can understand in a factory where you have redundant repetitive work or dangerous work sure it makes sense what is a person actually need one for?
I mean I think you're rich people are going to buy one as a novelty initially to say that they were the first ones to have it and show it off oh look he's bringing you a drink oh look he's able to go get the newspaper..
my dog can get my newspaper the dog I had before that I trained him to open the fridge and get me a beer that was years ago.
so what is the actual benefit of owning one and I just don't see it a maid to do your laundry to cook your food how lazy do people actually want to get in society.
I certainly understand when you know they make ones that are very very close to looking like a human and there's one company that does right now and that's for sex purposes I understand that side of the story I mean there's going to be a huge market for that type of thing they're always has been and they're always will I guess the ones they're going to be protesting or the hookers on the strip in Las Vegas.
I can imagine the advertising done by MGM and other casinos

I see that day maybe 20 years into the future 25 years 30 years that'll happen because people will pay for that but I just don't see the average person in the United States making 70 $80,000 a year buying an optimist I just don't see it
