Idk seems like companies will buy and take on debt to do whatever they need to do. Idk if they combine cmbs with A+ commercial debt or anything like that. Refinance mortgages to cover refurbishment with environmental building standards, upgrade equipment, energy use, etc.
With the infrastructure and energy a lot of it seems like physical stuff so it requires people to be in other places compared to just coding in an office.
The economy seems to be in an interesting place. We went through a "stand still" period and things are slowly picking up. Supply chains are back-logged and we're dealing with a "labor shortage." We might go through an energy transition which includes refurbishing and reshaping almost every industry including real estate. And this is all on top of the infrastructure bill.
Even if these companies are flushed with cash they'll probably still finance a lot of projects.
