First Time Trading Earning Season - I couldn't hide but I could diversify!

I started off the month thinking myself pretty clever. I correctly recognized the tech growth was unsustainable, liquidated my tech stocks and exchanged a good number of my S+P 500 index shares to indices that didn't have much of a magnificent 7 presence before the waves of sell-off.

Problem was - I made the classic mistake of forgetting that once one bubble pops, emotions take over and folks go around popping other bubbles with self-fulfilling prophecies.

Rather than doing the smart thing and roll the victory into other sectors, I got cocky and stuck with my portfolio of pharma and biotech stocks. Mistakes were made!

You might have noticed the recent nose dive after those bubbles have popped 🤣

I even went out and made a cash brokerage account off-platform to try day trading......which took less than a week to prove itself a horrible idea (you know what you did JAGS.US.......) Thankfully, I was spared the consequences of my "all in on LLY" plan with fractional trading not supported in the Pre-Market window where I made my dumbest plays 🫠

At the very least, the losses piled up enough to finally snap me out of my one-track mind!

I kept my Moomoo account still largely tied up in medium length position on pharma, and those results speak for themselves....

I used the other platform to pivot away towards new areas of investment. Primarily real estate and fixed income securities. Certainly nothing as sexy and exciting as the 1 in 10,000 people who played the TSLA option game to success!

I was genuinely surprised by how much these modest holdings  reduced the emotional blow of my losses elsewhere. Maybe it is common knowledge having at least a few green lines inoculates you from panic selling it all - and I just happened to learn the hard way 🫠
